Daniel coined the terms "the end", "the end time(s)", "the time of the end" & the "end of time". Beginning in Daniel 11:27, he uses these terms collectively a total of 10 times through the final verse of Daniel chapter 12:13.
Referring to "the end time" (Dan.11: 35, 40) he states that it "will be a period of distress such has never occurred since there was a nation." (Dan.12:1).
The length of this final period is stated clearly to be 3 1/2 years (Dan. 12:7) & is also specifically called "the end" (Dan.11:27; 12: 6,13) since it is the final & horrific 3 1/2 years of human history as man knows it, at the hands of the antichrist.
During Jesus' own prophecies regarding this same period, He used Daniel's term "the end". Jesus said, "And this gospel of the kingdom shall be preached to the whole world for a witness to all the nations, & then the end shall come." (Math.24:14).
Jesus' next words (Math.24:15) pinpoint the starting point for this last 3 1/2 year period to be "the abomination of desolation" which is the exact middle of the 7 year tribulation period. (Dan.9:27; Rev. 13:1-18).
This final period of doom is also called the "great tribulation" (Math. 24:21) & the "wrath of God". (Rev.16:1).
